Art Deco 1920s silver lizard brooch with textures ball markings decorating the head, body and tail of the lizard. This piece is silver and Italian as indicated by the 800 hallmark. The piece is hallmarked with the makers mark CK with a crescent moon and star. The brooch secures with a early safety catch.
Lizard jewellery became very popular in the Victorian era and continued into the 1920s. The Victorians enjoyed novelty pieces which included many different types of animals.
